The most recent original abstract paintings travel inspired  in the Juxtapositions Of Life Collection started as a complete non-objective creation and morphed into a very abstracted whimsical travel painting.  I go to France and Italy every year to teach a week long painting retreat.  I have chosen to go back there year after year because there is such a magical quality that permeates the senses.  The landscapes, the little cobblestone streets and crooked villages enchant me.  Colors are abundant in every aspect.  Hotels are always so charming and inviting.  I choose places that I know my students will be so inspired by.

The painting that I call Memories Of The French Countryside  which is one of many abstract paintings travel inspired is a playful example of  this new collection and a reveling in my mind and out of my brush onto the canvas.   These dazzling days of summer, that I have spent year after year with such great anticipation exude this energy from every color and brushstroke.
