Figurative Art – and how it relates to my work
October 29, 2017Puerto Vallarta Romance
November 12, 2017Today Kathleen lives a bohemian life style, spending half of the time in her Artist’s salon above the gallery in Puerto Vallarta and half of her time on the coast in San Diego, in a charming cottage overlooking a lagoon, with a lovely outdoor studio which can be visited by appointment. Kathleen spends a month in Europe each year doing a week long workshop and then explores some of the most magical locations that show up time after time in her works of Whimsical Architecture. Research is in the works to spend another month in the beautiful island of Maui where she intends on creating an additional week long workshop. Questions can be directed to her contact page on this website.
My Re-Entry into
Puerto Vallarta Life.
Kathleen has recently returned from her summer cottage in San Diego and is preparing for the six month season from November through April in Tropical Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
It is often difficult to make this re-entry as the culture shift, the weather change and the preparation for the season is a bit overwhelming, but once she spends about three days in PV, and gets over the challenges, she remembers why she loves it so much.
Little Altars Everywhere for The Day of the Dead Celebration
It is usually the “Day Of Morning Walks are always a part of the DayThe Dead” in Mexico from October 30 thru November 2, which is the time of year Kathleen returns. It is always a reminder to her of the amazing child like attitude that exists at this time of year and how the over abundance of color fills her senses which is often very influential in the color palette she uses. She has made PV her home for over 11 years and is drawn back every year for this very reason.
Morning Walks are always a part of the Day
It is always a great way to begin the day in Puerto Vallarta with a walk around the town. “I stop at the corner to get my green drink, walk to the Cuban Coffee house for my favorite coffee, and stop to buy my fresh fish for dinner. The lifestyle is so different, as everything is within walking distance.” A slower pace and a step back in time from the US.
