Paintings and Prints of Androgynous Music Icons

Have you ever observed yours and others reactions to certain Music Icons?  Do you wonder why some have such mass appeal and an ability to unify concert goers in a powerful way?  My curiosity about these artists has inspired a creative exploration, producing and attempting to  represent these balanced energies they embody.  By this I mean, embracing equally, their own male and female, physically and spritually, or Androgynous Icons, if you will.

Thinking about these canvas created icons, has been an engaging journey.  It occurs to me that the six chosen, flagrantly display their masculine and feminine energies equally, being very comfortable in their own skin with excessively powerful personas.  They are compassionate, purposeful, and love embracing  this equality!  It is their need, gift and joy to entertain us through these dazzling iconic messengers.

But back to this idea about their ability to be comfortable in their own skin, as easily connecting to their own masculine strengths and feminine sensitivities, and how it relates to us all.

Our society yearns to have a sense of community and meaning in life with camaraderie and movement towards, rather than against one another.  In my estimation these icons abilities to have this wonderful balance is something we should consider in ourselves.  This just might begin to heal humanity.

Just possibly, if we were all able to “try on” our feminine and masculine traits in our own skin, we may find ourselves working together rather than against each other.  This age old expectation of men being macho, and woman being yielding, exclusively,  without trying on one another’s suits could be the downfall of a society that is truly a blessing.  Maybe it is time to explore and engage in a new way of being, willing to play make believe, which may expedite a shift so sorely needed, eventually becoming a new world order!
