Kathleen is often asked, “How long does it take for you to do a painting?” Her response is always, “It took me forty years to be able to do a painting in a couple of days. She explains, as an artist, she has gone through many stages of learning how to become a better draftsperson, only to want to ‘undo’ her competency and become ‘unconsciously competent’.
