WATCH THIS VIDEO AND DISCOVER THE POSITIVE THAT COMES FROM A HUGE TREE FALLING ON YOUR STUDIO! Have you had life accidents, disasters, upset, something completely destroyed in your life or your work? How did you handle it? There are so many ways to deal with these kind of events, but really only one that serves us. I can attest to this for sure. Last week, when I was supposed to have completed my latest newsletter, I had, listen to this, a huge Torrey Pine Tree fall smack dab in the middle of my art studio, completely crushing tables, furniture, tv, supplies, and totally crushing the tent that I use for my sacred and creative space!
Well, I didn’t let even one second get me down. I knew I had to get back to work with a project I am working on to be ready to take back to the gallery in Puerto Vallarta. By the way, I will be back on NOvember 7, and look forward to having you visit me there.
So back to the disaster! In life, it is so important to take a look at why this happened, not the negative but the positive reasons! I finally figured out what that was in this little life accident. I have been having terrible allergies this season and come to find out, I am completely allergic to the mulch from the bamboo right next to my studio. It has been debilitating. It is as if divine intervention, felled the tree and forced me out of the space to help eliminate the allergies I have been plagued with. I know, I know, it sounds a little bit woo woo, but isn’t it better to think of the positive than to wallow in the negative. From my perspective it is!
This is where being the “CREATIVE WARRIOR WOMAN” comes in! I got busy the very next morning reinventing my creative space with what I had around me. Luckily, my husband set up a second tent for me to have classes a couple of years ago, and I was able to move everything over to that space. What a blessing that was! As you may already know if you have been following me, I believe that our spaces we create are a direct reflection of our personality.
This is according to the principles of FENG SHUI. I have been a practitioner of this amazing science for over twenty years and truly love to live by its principles. The concepts, if used correctly, truly do create space that feels like “HOME” no matter where it is. My studio space had to be set up outside because I did not have an indoor space to create it here in our home in Southern California. But I created it the best way that I know how, with this and that I found at the goodwill. I know for a fact that it works to nurture and comfort. I have had people enter the studio or the home and upon entering, they say over and over and over, “there is something so comforting and it feels so good in here”.
Review the situation, reinvent yourself, then relax, knowing that you are in good hands, if you remember you are your own Warrior Woman! The one that can get up time after time no matter what comes your way and start all over again. It may not feel good for a little while, but most of the time it is much better and you have grown from this life accident!
