French Village Art Prints

My French Village Art Prints of Dordogne, France are inspired by my travels taken to Magical Places across the globe.  “Dordogne Region of France”  This fine art print is an image of small village in the Dordogne hanging on the hillside and is alive with the feelings of the past. My interpretation of these works gives the feeling that the buildings are dancing, maybe communicating with one another, a sense of incredible joy, which is what I feel when I visit them.

I was visiting the quaint village of St. Paul de Vence in the south of France after teaching a workshop, and as I was walking down the stone staircase, I looked out over the village and noticed that they were leaning or tilting with age.  I was inspired to paint them as they looked, then sold the works immediately.  The rest is history. They are one of the most popular collections that I create.  They are now, much more about my feelings of magic, visiting these charming places, in the quiet corners of Italy, France and Mexico, rather than what I actually visualized on that special day.  They sway and sing, talk and dance in their whimsical contortions.

As I developed this series it came to my attention that everyone has that special attachment to their memories, from their travels,  of these magical places.  I love my favorite pieces hanging in my kitchen and living room.  Every time I pass them, it reminds me of that special moment in a magical place I have been.

These inspirational experiences have blossomed into multiple images of beloved US locations as well as Europe and Mexico. Many of the Architectural Whimsy images are available as hand embellished, limited edition Giclee Fine Art Prints on canvas, as well as some open edition Fine Art prints and products.  Three different sizes are available.  The original, the limited edition print, and the smaller open edition print.

Each painting that is chosen for a limited editio n fine artprint is scanned and then digitally produced, archived and available to utilize for your order. The high-quality canvas provides a consistent surface that allows for an incredibly intense range of colors and depth. Once Kathleen receives your ordered print from her manufacturer, she personally hand paints the print with her fine art acrylics, enhances it with gel medium for texture and then finishes it with a final coat of acrylic finish varnish. It is then signed and numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Kathleen is also offering a selection of her works to be made available as open-edition canvas fine art prints using the finest epson inks available. All of her prints are designed to last a lifetime without fading, as long as they are not hung in direct sunlight. Each open-edition print is varnished for intensity of color and protection of surface. Open Edition prints are produced smaller than the Limited edition prints and the limited edition prints are smaller than the originals by about 20-30%.
