French Riviera Fine Art Print

My French Riviera Fine Art Print of St. Tropez, France was inspired by my travels taken to Magical Places across the globe.  “St. Tropez”, on the French Riviera is from the Architectural Whimsy Collection and depicts Magical Places across the globe that Kathleen frequents. These Colorful, vibrant places have blossomed into multiple images of beloved locations and are some of her patrons favorite works. St. Tropez is an old fishing port frequented by the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Steeped in history it’s typical harbor atmosphere lends itself to love, laughter, drinking and dining in this relaxed atmosphere. It rocks and rolls in it’s energy!

I was visiting the quaint village of St. Paul de Vence in the south of France after teaching a workshop, and as I was walking down the stone staircase, I looked out over the village and noticed that they were leaning or tilting with age.  I was inspired to paint them as they looked, then sold the works immediately.  The rest is history. They are one of the most popular collections that I create.  They are now, much more about my feelings of magic, visiting these charming places, in the quiet corners of Italy, France and Mexico, rather than what I actually visualized on that special day.  They sway and sing, talk and dance in their whimsical contortions.

As I developed this series it came to my attention that everyone has that special attachment to their memories, from their travels,  of these magical places.  I love my favorite pieces hanging in my kitchen and living room.  Every time I pass them, it reminds me of that special moment in a magical place I have been.

These inspirational experiences have blossomed into multiple images of beloved US locations as well as Europe and Mexico.
