Mexico Art Prints

This Mexico Art Print, El Set is from the Architectural Whimsy Collection. The prints in this collection are from  beautiful places all over the world, but this one was actually inspired by my visit to a famous restaurant called El Set.  It was where the cast and crew would go each day after their shoot on the movie set, Night Of The Iguana.  It is in lower Conchas Chinas in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.  It is my home now, where there are crystal clear turquoise waters, and beautiful emerald Green jungles where our beautiful fishing village is nestled in between.

My Architectural  Whimsy Collection paintings were inspired by my travels to Magical Places across the globe.  These works are the Inspiration for The Architectural Whimsy Collection which is a colorful, vibrant and playful series that began during my travels in Europe.

I was visiting the quaint village of St. Paul de Vence in the south of France after teaching a workshop, and as I was walking down the stone staircase, I looked out over the village and noticed that they were leaning or tilting with age.  I was inspired to paint them as they were and sold the works immediately.  The rest is history.  This collection is now much more about my feelings of magic visiting these charming places in the quiet corners of Italy and France rather than what I actually saw.  They sway and sing, talk and dance in their whimsical contortions.

As she developed this series it came to her attention that everyone has that special attachment to their memories, from their travels,  of these magical places.  I know that I love my favorite pieces hanging in my kitchen and living room.  Every time I pass them, it reminds me of that special moment in a magical space.

These inspirational experiences have blossomed into multiple images of beloved US locations as well as Europe and Mexico. Many of the Architectural Whimsy images are available as hand embellished, limited edition Giclee Prints on canvas, as well as some open edition prints and products.

Kathleen Carrillo is now offering her Mexico Art Prints of Puerto Vallarta as hand embellished, limited edition, signed and numbered Giclee prints on canvas. Each painting that is chosen for a limited edition print is scanned and then digitally scanned, and used to create your print. The high-quality canvas provides a consistent surface that allows for an incredibly intense range of colors. Once Kathleen receives your print from the printer, she personally will hand embellish the print with her acrylic paint, enhances it with gel medium for texture and then finishes it with a final coat of  varnish. It is then signed and numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.  These are an edition of 100 prints.
